📅 Save the date! July 13, 2025 📅

The annual Fun-DUCT-Raiser is back in full swing for 2025, and we are anticipating the biggest and (hopefully) most buoyant boat race in FDR history!

The idea is simple: assemble a crew of up to four people, collect your complimentary duct tape generously provided by 3M, and construct a boat out of duct tape and cardboard. Whether you’re a community/corporate group or a family, anyone above the age of 8 can set sail with Quacky the Duck. Early registration is available here!

So… what the DUCT is this race all about?

Supporting the not-for-profit Long Lake Provincial Park Association; a group of dedicated volunteers who maintain five kilometres of trails that border Dunbrack Street South and Old Sambro Road. All proceeds from the event go towards the LLPPA, who keep the park accessible to walkers, runners, strollers, and four-legged friends.

Interested in volunteering?

The Fun-DUCT-Raiser is a lot of work for Quacky, so helping out with this fun family event is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. A variety of volunteer positions are available, ranging from boat assistants to videographers. Fill out this super quick form so we can keep you in the loop!

Thank you to Maritime Paper!

Maritime Paper, Eastern Canada’s Ecofriendly corrugated cardboard manufacturer, is returning as a sponsor for 2025!

Their design team came up with a pre-cut boat to be assembled and taped. Think IKEA and substitute tape for an allen key. Six boaters gave their design a shot at last year’s race, including Ren’s Racer, who took home one of the highly coveted People’s Choice Awards. Thank you, Maritime Paper, for your support and all the extra cardboard!
